Questions

FAQ

What printer do I need?

Any FDM printer with a 220 × 220 mm bed and at least 250 mm height. Bambu Lab A1, P1S, Ender 3 V3 and similar all work.

What is LW-PLA?

A lightweight PLA that foams while printing, so parts come out much lighter than normal PLA. It is used for the skins of LayerWings planes.

When can I buy the planes?

The Koonj 1650 and Chakor 1300 are in development and will be released after flight testing. Join the launch list to get one email when they are ready.

Which electronics do I need?

Each plane's page lists the motor, ESC, servos, battery, DJI O3 FPV system and an ArduPilot flight controller, with a full wiring diagram.

Do I need an autopilot?

No. The planes fly with a normal receiver and servos. An ArduPilot flight controller adds stabilisation, return-to-home and mission flying.

How will I receive the files?

After purchase you download the STL files, slicer profiles and the PDF build manual. Updates to a plane are free.

Can I sell planes I print?

The files are for personal use. For commercial use, contact us about a maker licence.
